The goal of this blog is to collect 315 copies of Orwell’s 1984 and send them to every member of Congress who voted for the Military Commissions Act of 2006 (a k a The Torture Bill or The Detaineee Bill), which suspends the centuries-old writ of Habeas Corpus for anyone deemed an “enemy combatant” by George W. Bush, meaning his administration can detain you indefinitely without access to a court and torture you if they like.

I’m sending you 10 copies of the book from Amazon. I need your phone number. I had to put my phone number in the blank in order to get Amazon to accept your address. Also, is Box 655 a street address or is it a PO Box?
Forgive me being abrupt, I’m not at my best, would I find comrade o’Brian or a means of contacting him here.

I have sent 2 copies from Amazon. Please be sure one of them reaches dear House Inner Party Member Latham. He loves to reply to all of my emails with long letters filled with doublethink. He really needs reindoctrination as soon as possible. The other please give to any other Party member that still needs it.

I like the ideas behind this site. I see that I have found it after the fact, as it is now February 2008. In the aftermath, what has happened? Is there still a mission at hand?
